So whatever happened to the UND "Green Bike" Project? We heard in the DS last spring that the program was going to return, but to no avail. I even spoke to someone this fall who claimed they were on the organizing committee and that the next phase was right around the corner. Well, it's November now.
Campus Dakota introduces . . .
Student Organization Services
Use Campus Dakota to:
- Get your name out.
- Get more members.
- Get organized.
- Get things done.
Campus Dakota is a FREE website for college students in North and South Dakota, and is entirely owned and operated by North and South Dakota students. We want to help students, which means helping student organizations.
[I wrote this up for the DS, but it's not really appropriate for a staff member to reply directly to a letter to the editor. So I'm posting it here.]
In response to Christopher Gunn’s letter in the Dakota Student from last week (which doesn't appear to be online), perhaps some clarification is in order.
I’m at least glad that nobody is expecting me to take the lead in starting up a student-run radio station at UND. I’m busy enough as it is and I’ll be graduating in August. However, I do have some ideas for implementation that I was unable to fit into my last article. I’ve already mentioned these to the people who have contacted me about starting a station, but the more people who are thinking about the problem, the better.
An update to this thread, since I attended Dr. Bill Ayers' talk last night in the Memorial Union Ballroom at the University of North Dakota (which I attend as a graduate student).
This event was organized and sponsored primarily by the UND branch of Students for a Democratic Society (SDS).
Ayers spoke of a lot of things, but I think his real message was that we, as individuals, have to take charge of doing the things we want to see done. We have to be the ones who set the moral standards, not in a way that tells other people to adhere to those moral standards, but in a way that lets us face the world openly and honestly because we are "living our lives in a way that is not at odds with our beliefs" (that is a paraphrase; he said it much better).
