Give it up for the ladies

I really appreciate your suggestion about dropping a note to someone to let them know how they've inspired you. Too few of us take the time to let others know they've had an influence and an impact on us and it's the greatest compliment you can bestow on anyone.

President Kelley is not a victim

Anyone notice that Kelly is the same age as Kupchella when he retired? This suggests he will only be at UND long enough to deal with several problems, since he doesn't have to worry about making friends.

He's already gotten rid of the Communication Department, an entity that suffered from dysfunction for decades. He eliminated Harmeson, an empty suit universally disliked. And now the nickname issue will soon be resolved. All that remains is continuing the process by which UND will be totally corporatized.

Admin: A communication breakdown

Does anyone actually believe that Kelly wrote that? University presidents cannot be troubled with such mundane tasks; that's why they have lap dogs and secretaries. He is no more the author than Hakstol was of his offical apology for flipping the bird at the hockey refs.

Inspirational reporter dies, leaves legacy

WCCO news reporter Darcy Pohland was the definitive example of a person with disabilities who didn't allow that fact to define her. She worked for WCCO-TV in Minneapolis-St. Paul since 1986. Pohland died in her sleep last week at the age of 48.

Pohland's colleagues remember her as a strong individual who enjoyed her work.
